ABC Church Quiet Book


Teacher: Natalie Wall

Time: 9-10am

Description: This is a wonderful and very easy gospel ABC quiet book. It's super easy. All you have to do is put the prints in the little photo book. It doesn't get much better than that. Plus, it's a wonderful teaching book and great for sacrament meeting!

Easy Button Earrings


Teacher: Angela Ayala

Time: 11am - Noon

Description: We will be making super easy button earrings. You don't need any kind of crafty skill for this. Fabric scraps will be used on self-covered buttons to make cute earrings from your fabric stash. You may want to make these to give to your sisters, mothers, mothers-in-law, etc. Being a mom, grandma, aunt, wife, sister, and daughter we sometimes don't get time for ourselves. This is something you can make for yourself and wear with pride!

Cost: Free

Materials: Please bring glue sticks, glue guns, & scrap fabric (you may want to bring a few fabric options as each sister may be able to make more than one pair of earrings). If you don't have any of these I am sure someone will be willing to share!


Monogram Door Hanging

Medium Size Door Hanging

Teacher: Nikki Dodson

Time: 11am - noon

Description: In this class, we will create letter door hangings. The project includes painting a letter and using fabric, flowers, and buttons to decorate your new door hanging. This is a very easy, quick craft for all levels of crafters!

Cost: $5 (small) or $8 (medium)

Materials: If you have a glue gun, please bring it. We will also provide a few to share for those who do not have a glue gun.


Designer Style on a Thrift Store Budget


Teacher: Becky Freeman

Time: 11am - noon

Description: Don't let a teeny, tiny budget stop you from infusing designer style into your space! Come learn some creative and inexpensive ways to rev up a boring interior with budget-conscious design ideas. We'll explore the transforming power of paint, ways to incorporate artwork for little to no cost, fun furniture makeovers, and ways of re-purposing what you already have to get a room that's just your style.

Service Project: Blankets and Pillowcases for Mott Children's Hospital


Organizers: Jen Singer & Megan Haycock

Time: 10-11am

Description: We will be sewing pillowcases and tying fleece blankets for Mott Children's Hospital. In order to do this service project we would need the supplies donated.

Cost: Free


Materials: For each pillowcase, we need 3/4 yard of one fabric and 1/4 yard of a coordinating fabric.

For each fleece blanket, we need fleece that would make a small, medium, or large blanket. Use your own best judgement here. All fabric donated needs to be bright and cheerful fabric appropriate for children.

We also need people to bring sewing machines, scissors, rotary cutters and mats, pins, thread, etc.


Christmas Card Garland

Description: Having trouble displaying all the Christmas cards you receive? This is a simple and festive way to show them off! This craft is simple and cute, making it great for both beginners and experienced crafters!

Cost: $6

Cake Pops


Teacher: Camilla Boles

Time: 10-11am

Description: This class will teach you how to make delicious cake pops and decorate them in a fun and festive way. Cake pops are essentially a ball made of cake and frosting dipped in melted chocolate, which is put on a lollipop stick and decorated. It is a fun activity that can be shared with your children. While cake pops can be used for any occasion, we will be decorating for the Christmas holiday season.

Make-Up & Fashion Tips


Teachers: Kate Meier and Diane Dimond

Time: 10-11am

Description: During the first half of this class, learn basic makeup application, from proper skin prep to tips and tricks about how to apply and wear makeup. Accentuate your natural beauty! Then, learn how to dress for your body type and skin tone. We will also be discussing a few basic needs for every woman's closet.

It's Time to Eat!


Teacher: Erin Gong

Time: 9-10am

Description: Learn easy tips and nifty tools to help you get dinner on the table. In this class, we'll talk about how to plan meals, keep a pantry stocked, avoid last-minute grocery trips, and generally how to stay sane. We'll share our own tricks and our favorite go-to recipes, and we'll learn about a few easy tech tools that make meal planning and grocery shopping a breeze.

Cost: Free!

Fabric Key Chain Wristlet


Teacher: Dani Carbajal

Time: 9-10am

Description: This will be a fun and easy project. We will be making fabric straps to hook onto your keys (a key fob). These straps make keys easier to find, and you can wear it around your wrist. There will be many strap colors, fabrics, and ribbons to choose from. These are awesome gifts for all ages! There will be very minimal sewing on this project - two short straight lines! If you haven't used a sewing machine before, this will be a good opportunity to do so in a VERY low stress environment.

Perfect Pie Crust

Teacher: Susan Ahlstrom

Time: 9 - 10am

Description: Learn to make pie crust from scratch. Take your bottom crust home, and fill it with your favorite pie filling. Pie crust and filling recipes will be given to class members.

Cost: Free to watch, $2 to make a crust

Materials: If you are planning to make a crust, please bring a bowl, rolling pin, pie pan, pastry cutter, and pastry mat.

Christmas Workshop 2012: Home for Christmas

We are excited to announce the theme of this year's Christmas Workshop: Home for ChristmasThe focus of this year's workshop will be to foster a feeling of home in our ward family as we build Christmas traditions that will invite Christ into each of our homes. 

Please continue to visit this site in the time leading up to the event, which will be on Dec. 1st. We will continue to post information about the classes that will be offered: descriptions and photos, costs, time blocks, and teacher bios. Registration will be available beginning on Oct. 28th. We look forward to celebrating another holiday season!
